Well, I realize it has been a while... ok so one could say a long while. After this past weekend and having one of my long time friends remark on my lack of blogging, (that would be Julie) I decided to hop on and write a little blurb about getting older. I said oldER not old! I know nothing about getting old!
This past weekend I had a chance to get together with some of my longtime friends. These are the girls that go back to my earliest memories of friends. I run into a couple of them occasionally, but none of them live here and we never have the opportunity to sit down, reminisce, and make new memories... until this past weekend. Its funny, but as soon as we were together, it was though we were 13 again (certainly no where close to 40.) Laughing at all sorts of pictures, boys, life and other silly things. While our time together was short, it was a most enjoyable! I actually also just attended my (in a whispered voice) 20 year class reunion. As I look back on it and my recent visit with my childhood friends, I realize how important friends are in life. So many of our stories weren't tales of crazy things we did, but rather the ordinary everyday life things that we were just there with each other. Ok, there were a few discussions of some NFC (Not for Carol for those of you who don't know what the acronym means) things, but most were just memories of daily fun we had. Life isn't so much about the "big" things, but really way more about the little seemingly insignificant things. I call some of them my life-altering insignificant, monumental moments. I will one day blog about some of those in my life.
What a good time we all had and look at the picture...I mean really, we don't look too bad for pushing 40!
